Did you know that Goshen College’s bachelor’s in accounting degree program is consistently ranked among the best in Indiana for its CPA exam pass rates? That’s why three of the top 10 accounting career firms in the country come to campus every year to recruit GC accounting majors directly. It’s not unusual for 100 percent of GC’s students in our accounting programs to have a job lined up before they graduate with a degree in accounting; some even begin their senior year with a job offer already in place, or admission to business schools and other graduate programs to pursue a master’s degree!
Goshen College graduates have had increasing success from their thorough exposure to generally accepted accounting principles from our accounting program, including such topics as financial accounting, financial resources, international finance, financial reports, financial analysts, labor statistics, management accounting, financial documents, and financial records.
Students with a bachelor’s degree in accounting are highly sought.
Every year, the nation’s top firms in the accounting field actively recruit our prospective accounting graduates. These students go on to work with financial statements, forensic accounting, tax preparation, and other accounting careers like budget analysts, certified public accountant, certified management accountant, financial planning, financial reporting, financial manager and financial analyst positions.
Many firms say that there is “something different” about Goshen College students, that they are “mature, confident and competent.” The college’s focus on intercultural and international education (most students study abroad), coupled with a strong accounting curriculum, will give you specialized knowledge and an edge in the business world when you are looking for employment.
What will you learn in the Goshen College accounting program?
In GC’s top-ranked program, you’ll learn how to solve problems and make decisions in a variety of business contexts. Our accounting degree focuses on financial strategy, financial analysis, working with financial data, and correctly maintaining financial records. You will have two, three, or four internships before you graduate, including a required, paid senior internship in finance professions. These hands-on experiences will prepare you for a full-time position, often at one of the firms where you intern.
