Goshen College announces 2014-15 Rieth Chamber Series

The Goshen College Music Center has announced the performances for the 2014-15 Rieth Chamber Series. The series, which attempts to make classical chamber music more accessible to the Goshen community, will feature six concerts by outstanding chamber music ensembles and organists on GC’s Taylor and Boody pipe organ, plus a bonus concert and dessert reception for series subscribers only.

Spektral Quartet and Julien Labro return to Goshen to unveil new album

Spektral Quartet, one of the nation’s fastest-rising young string quartets and ensemble-in-residence at the University of Chicago, returns to Goshen with accordion and bandoneon phenom Julien Labro, playing a fun and fiery program of South American jazz and tangos. The concert is set for Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.

Members of Fort Wayne Philharmonic to perform at Goshen College

Principal members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will bring their talents together for a chamber concert on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall. The ensemble, named Freimann, will present chamber works for solo winds, strings and piano in unusual combinations as part of the 2013-2014 Rieth Chamber Series.

Villiers String Quartet performance at Goshen College to include GC student’s original composition

The United Kingdom-based Villiers String Quartet will perform in Goshen College’s Sauder Concert Hall on Friday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m. Along with works by Beethoven and Elgar, the quartet will perform a composition by current GC music student Henry Stewart.
