When Olivia Ginn, 19, graduates from Goshen College she will be the first in her family to have finished a college degree. Ginn said that going to college was always her plan, even though her parents did not graduate from college.

Summer 2013 was already shaping up as a busy time for new Goshen College men’s basketball coach Neal Young. Young, in his post less than two months, was in the midst of moving to the Maple City with his wife Maggie the first week of June when he got a phone call from his doctor that changed his life forever. Young had cancer — specifically, lymphoblastic lymphoma.

Goshen College will present its 2013 musical celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. This special celebration of the holiday season will feature five choirs and orchestra, along with audience participation on traditional carols, all in a concert hall festively decorated with garlands, lights and trees.
