Mennonite Church USA arranged for a sculpture designed and built by Emma Zuercher, a 2023 graduate of Goshen College from Apple Creek, Ohio, under the mentorship of John Mishler, sculptor and Goshen College associate professor of art.
John Mishler, associate professor of art, along with five recent graduates, are displaying their sculptures in a show titled "Sculptures in the Garden: Heavy Metal" at the Wellfield Botanic Gardens through September 30.
Paintings conservator Dean Yoder made his debut Tuesday as the co-star in an unusual new exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art. For the next 14 weeks, he'll be working in the museum's highly visible Focus Gallery on the conservation of the museum's 1607 painting by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, "The Crucifixion of Saint Andrew."
After her November 2012 exhibit in the Hershberger Art Gallery, Japanese artist Michiko Itatani donated one of her pieces to Goshen College. Her painting, worth $23,000, is now on display in the lobby of the Music Center.
The Goshen College Library Gallery will honor Sylvia Gross Bubalo, an artist with Mennonite roots, with an exhibit showcasing her art and poetry this fall. The exhibit, which highlights Gross Bubalo’s passion for spirituality, language and community, will run from Aug.12 through Nov. 16, with a reception on Sept. 8 from 3-5 p.m. in the Library Gallery.

Goshen College Professor Emeritus of Art Abner Hershberger will showcase his art exhibit titled “Heritage Works” in the college’s Good Library Gallery from Feb. 10 to March 28. An opening reception will be held there on Feb. 10 from 2-4 p.m.
