Goshen College President Rebecca Stoltzfus recently announced several internal leadership changes at the college. The newly formed cabinet will be fully in place as of July 1.
Five faculty members have been granted tenure, and eight faculty members have received promotions, effective July 1, 2019.
According to the most recent survey, 10 percent of 2017 traditional GC graduates were in volunteer or service programs, compared to five percent at peer institutions. A 2018 survey of Goshen College alumni also showed that 30 percent of GC grads do community service or volunteer work at least once a month, and 78 percent do so at least once a year.
Goshen College’s Performing Arts Series will provide ten world-class concerts during the 2019-20 series, bringing an incredible breadth of top-quality arts performances including The Wailin' Jennys, Bruce Cockburn, the Vienna Boys Choir and more.
Members of the Goshen College Class of 2019 received undergraduate and graduate degrees during the college’s 121st commencement on Sunday, April 28.
Mikol Aspinwall will graduate at age 17 with a degree in computer science, and is believed to be the youngest graduate in the college’s history.
Dr. Debra Detwiler, Goshen College professor of music, died Monday, April 22, early in the morning at her home in Goshen. She was 62 years old and taught at the college for 20 years.
Bee City USA® has renewed Goshen College’s Bee Campus USA certification for 2019 following a rigorous renewal application process. GC was named Indiana’s first Bee Campus USA for its work in supporting pollinators such as bees.
For the fifth time in program history Goshen College was named “Radio School of the Year” by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB). Students from 91.1 The Globe earned 11 awards, including three first places honors. Globe TV student staff picked up seven awards.
Twenty-one Goshen College students collected 34 awards at the Indiana Collegiate Press Association’s (ICPA) annual convention on March 30, as The Record was named the “Newspaper of the Year” for the second consecutive year in the college division.
