Goshen College welcomes Dwight Gingerich as new athletic director and head men’s basketball coach

Dwight Gingerich, who has more than four decades of coaching and educational leadership experience and a track record of success, has been named as Goshen College’s new athletic director and head men’s basketball coach. Gingerich, a member of the Iowa High School Basketball Hall of Fame who currently serves as head of school and head boys basketball coach at Hillcrest Academy in Kalona, Iowa (formerly named Iowa Mennonite School), will begin his new roles on July 1.

Powered by community partnership, Goshen College launches new Center for Nursing and Public Health

Goshen College is stepping boldly into the future with the new Center for Nursing and Public Health in the renovated historic Westlawn — a state-of-the-art facility created through deep community partnership. The college marked the occasion with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the whole building on Wednesday, May 7.

My choice and your choice matter

In 2017, I was the vice provost for undergraduate education at Cornell University, facing the hardest career decision of my life. Should I leave a familiar and prestigious university I love, to lead a small college that I also love? As you know, I chose Goshen. I continue to choose Goshen, and here’s why.

Goshen College announces $68 million campaign; $60 million already raised

During Homecoming Weekend festivities, Goshen College announced the launch of the public phase of “Connected Cause: The Campaign for Goshen College” and seeks to raise a total of $68 million in new gifts for this comprehensive campaign by the end of 2026.

A truth-seeking community

One of the beautiful aspects about a liberal arts college is the multitude of questions being asked by our students and faculty, as well as the variety of approaches used to pursue them. A liberal arts education affirms the breadth of our curiosity and liberates us from fear of our questions and the answers we might find.

It is no secret and no surprise: Goshen College has been in many ways subverted – turned from below – by our inquiring and passionate students and faculty and the transformational changes they have brought about.

Goshen College awarded $3 million grant to support achievements of Hispanic/Latinx and commuter students, and connect them to careers 

The U.S. Department of Education awarded Goshen College a highly competitive $3 million Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) grant that will propel the institution’s efforts to support student success and close the equity gap over the next five years.
