

Leadership academy in Goshen focuses on intercultural community relations, development – The Elkhart Truth

Take a hike, roast marshmallows or go canoeing at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center’s annual spring festival, NatureFest, on Friday, May 1, 6:30 p.m. through Saturday, May 2, 2 p.m. NatureFest includes the Turtle Trot 5-K run, hikes for all ages and interests, and booths with hands-on interactive nature activities. Camping overnight is an option.
On Friday, May 1, from 4 to 7 p.m., adults interested in graduate and continuing studies programs are invited to visit Goshen College for an open house to learn more about Goshen’s different programs. It will take place in the college’s Newcomer Center, Room 19 (on Main Street, across from IU Goshen Hospital).
Goshen College has led a robust effort over the past decade to attract international students and become an intercultural campus.
J Sider, a Goshen College alumnus and CEO of BandPage, will present insights on starting a new business during Goshen College’s “Lunch and Launch (Your Business)” networking event on Feb. 27. The luncheon, hosted by the college’s Graduate and Adult Programs, will take place in the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
After obstacles facing similar Maple City Health Care Center programs came to light, a Goshen College student launched Martha’s Gift, a program that lets patients create items that will help the community in exchange for credit on their medical bills.
Goshen College’s Master of Arts in Intercultural Leadership (MAIL) program will enter its second year when classes begin on June 23. Openings are currently available for this 18-month program geared for working adults.
