An Ohio farm boy who has left an indelible mark on Illinois agriculture has retired after nearly 36 years of service. Emerson Nafziger '73, University of Illinois Extension agronomist, educator, mentor and researcher, retired from his post Dec. 31. Nafziger grew up on his family’s farm on the flat, fertile ground of northwestern Ohio, west of Toledo, where they raised primarily corn and livestock.
Dr. Lawrence Eugene "Joe" Maurer, a Boulder medical pioneer best known as a co-founder of the Boulder Medical Center in 1949, died recently at his home at the age of 103. Maurer was trained as a pediatrician and delivered more than 2,500 babies, including two of his own children.
Long-time friends and music stars Lyle Lovett and Shawn Colvin will present “An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and Shawn Colvin” on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:30 p.m, in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall. This concert will replace the cancelled May 6 “Evening with Garrison Keillor.”
