Heath-Granger Named UIndy Men’s Hoops Associate Head Coach

INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy men's basketball head coach Scott Heady has officially made the first coaching hire of his tenure, announced the selection of Devin Heath-Granger as Associate Head Coach on Wednesday.

"I am very excited about this opportunity to be a part of the UIndy men's basketball program," said Heath-Granger. The success and winning history of UIndy speaks for itself."

Heath-Granger comes from NCAA DII member Fairmont State, where he served on the coaching staff for the last five seasons, including the past two as Associate Head Coach. Prior to his time in Fairmont, Heath-Granger was the Director of Basketball Operations at Marian University under now-UIndy-coach Heady.

"I'm extremely excited to have Devin join our staff," said Heady. "He brings a relentless work ethic, tremendous knowledge of the game, ability to build trusting relationships and is a tireless and proven recruiter. Devin is a person of the highest character and will be loyal."

Heath-Granger helped lead Fairmont State to four NCAA tournaments in his first four seasons, including a 21-win campaign this past winter. The Fighting Falcons were ranked as high as seventh in the NABC national poll under Heath-Granger's tutelage in 2022. He proved instrumental in NABC All-Region First Team selection Isaiah Sanders' development in 2023, as well as All-MEC first teamer Zyon Dobbs this past season.

During his season at Marian, the Knights advanced to the NAIA semifinals, as he primarily worked with Wes Stowers – Marian's all-time leading scorer and assists holder – as well as TJ Henderson – Marian's single-season steals leader.

As a player, Heath-Granger was a four-year starter and three-year captain at NAIA Goshen College, graduating as the program's all-time leader in assists with 581, while ranking third in steals with 202. The Indy native surpassed 1,000 career points as a senior and earned All-Crossroads League honors.

The newest Greyhound coach also has experience at Wheeling University and Goshen College, as well as the Northside Spartans AAU team here in Indianapolis.

Heath-Granger continued: "I am super thankful for Coach Heady and the rest of the UIndy administration for this opportunity and I am excited to get to work. Go Hounds!"

"We welcome Devin to UIndy and look forward to the positive impact he will have on Greyhound Basketball!" Heady concluded.
