Six days before the Museum of the Bible opened its doors, more than 100 friends and family of Joel Kauffmann '79, a cartoonist and creative consultant on museum design prior to his death in 2015, gathered at the Washington, D.C., facility to remember Kauffmann, celebrate his contributions and launch a new scholarship in his name.

This fall, students in Hesston College’s famous Introduction to Biblical Literature class received copies of the first print run of The Bible as Story: An Introduction to Biblical Literature as their textbook. Fittingly, the book is co-authored by former and current Hesston College faculty members Marion Bontrager, Michele Hershberger and John Sharp, who have more than 45 years of combined experience teaching the course.

Goshen College’s new Study-Service Theology Term (SSTT) is currently seeking 20 high school applicants for a two-week study tour in Guatemala in June 2017. Students will be provided with the opportunity to explore their understandings of Jesus’ life and mission in light of contemporary challenges and their own sense of calling.
