Waste to Energy in Elkhart County

Can we find a way to generate clean energy from the hundreds of tons of waste delivered to the Elkhart County landfill each day?  What’s in it for the county, the contractor, the community, the environment?  Senior business and accounting majors are analyzing a proposal developed by Energy, Inc.  This Nevada-based company hopes to build a state-of-the-art facility that heats landfill waste in the absence of oxygen to create a synthetic gas, extending the useful life of the landfill and providing a source of heat for the nearby correctional facility.  We invite you to hear what we have found and share your perspective.  Coffee and tea will be served, beginning at 9:30 am.  The presentation starts at 10 am.  For more information, please contact Dr. Jerrell Ross Richer at (574) 535-7454 or jerrellrr@goshen.edu
