Important Dates:
Standards Response Statement (one per group)
- Each student will need to make a non refundable $200 deposit. Be sure to print out your receipt and bring it with you.
Considerations
- By start of Fall semester, must have completed 2 years since high school graduation.
- Selection process gives priority to students in this order: years since high school, lottery number and capacity.
- Groups must have confirmed capacities by sign up. Students with less than the designated capacity will not be permitted to reserve a suite. Suite must maintain capacity to retain the housing unit. Three-fourths of your original group must make up the capacity in the fall and spring semesters. If a suite falls below minimum capacity each suite member may forfeit the deposit money.
- Suite units and capacity
- Deadline for finding replacement of a suite member for spring semester is December 1st.
- The residence life team reserves the right to deny any selection of a suite in order to maintain essentially full occupancy in campus student halls.
Expectations
- Suite members uphold the visitation policy: 24-hour open house in public areas; 24-hour open house in all areas for group members; 12:00 noon – 12:00 midnight open house for non-members in bedrooms.
- A Resident Director will work with the group throughout the year.
- A contact person from the suite will serve as a communication link between the suite members and the director. See the contact person job description for details.
- Individuals in suites are responsible for regularly cleaning their own units. The Resident Director will work with the suite members to ensure cleanliness of the suite.
- Suite members must be ready to have the college use units during the semester breaks to house other students or persons involved in GC programs, and are expected to cooperate with the preparation of units for use.
- Suite members must purchase at the minimum the 80 Block Meal Plan. Students are encouraged to prepare and eat at least one meal together a week.
- Monies are available for programming activities. These activities must include the majority of suite members and be pre-approved by the RD. Programs that encourage connections and strengthen friendships between the suite members and the broader campus will be more likely to receive funding.
