New scholarships available for Elkhart County adult and transfer students

Through a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Goshen College is offering career advancement scholarships to eligible Elkhart County residents who continue their studies at Goshen College in fall 2021. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 per year and is renewable for up to one additional year through the end of summer 2023.

To be eligible, individuals must be current residents of Elkhart County; accepted for the fall 2021 school year as a new student in one of the college’s adult or graduate programs, or as a transfer into the traditional undergraduate program; and demonstrate financial need. To be considered for a scholarship, interested individuals must also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the Goshen College Financial Aid Affordability Form if not a U.S. citizen, by Aug. 15, 2021.

“We’re so pleased to be able to offer these new scholarships for local residents that are ready to take the next step toward their educational and career goals,” said Duane Stoltzfus, director of adult and graduate programs. “The scholarships are intended to provide direct financial assistance, to be sure, but also to convey our strong affirmation of strengthening career advancement opportunities in Elkhart County.”

Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis for students who meet the above eligibility criteria.

Goshen College’s traditional undergraduate program offers more than 65 areas of study. Undergraduate and continuing education programs tailored for adult students include a new Bachelor of Science in Communication and Transition to Sign Language Interpreting program, as well as RN-to-BSN, Bachelor of Science in Social Work, English Learners (EL) Licensure Add-on, and Transition to Teaching program. Graduate programs include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-FNP), Master of Arts in Environmental Education, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

Goshen College is ranked as the #1 Bachelor’s College in Indiana by Washington Monthly, and was recently recognized as one of the top colleges in Indiana for non-traditional students by College Factual.
