2015 Spectrum Awards-Indianapolis, Indiana

Goshen College’s 91.1 The Globe Radio Station have won yet another award at the 28th Annual Spectrum Awards in Indianapolis Saturday November 14th. This is the station’s fifth honor from this competition which is presented by the Indiana Broadcasters Association. A Spectrum Award is the highest professional broadcasting award in the state of Indiana. The banquet and ceremony is held every year in Indianapolis and features the best work from radio and television professionals across the state. The Globe won for Local Community Involvement in Radio Market 2, with Bullying PSA written by Goshen College Senior Danielle Kerschhakl.

“It feels great,” said Kerschhakl when asked how it felt to win the award. “My PSA was put along side all the other broadcasters in the media two market. It wasn’t judge as something a student would produce. It was dissected and analyzed like a work of a professional. It’s nice to know that I can not only be successful amongst my peers but also amongst my future employers and competitors.” Kerschhakl has also won the CBI award for best radio DJ earlier this year. Maria Bischoff, Senior and Programming Director, represented The Globe at the awards banquet in Indianapolis.
