I’m so grateful for the Film Production department in Goshen College, mainly because it allowed me to have real industry experience, in addition to being trusted with leadership roles in both FiveCore Media, and 91.1 The Globe. I’m a well-rounded professional today because of this department.

Film Production at Goshen College is a four-year bachelors degree in visual storytelling. Here, you learn every part of filmmaking, from directing and producing to editing and sound design. As a result, you graduate with a portfolio, real experience, and national awards.

In fact, from day one you work with industry-standard digital cinema equipment in real production environments. Spend a May Term Immersed in Los Angeles

A May term immersive course takes film production students to Los Angeles, the center of the film and television world, to study on location and see how the industry actually works.
Students also get to produce their own short film with the assistance of professionals in the industry, and industry-level equipment.

FiveCore Media: A Professional Studio, Run on Campus
FiveCore Media is the college’s professional, Emmy® Award-winning video production company, and it operates right on campus. At most undergraduate film programs, a real studio and paying clients are things you reach later, through competitive internships or graduate school.
At Goshen, you can join the crew as an undergraduate and build real projects for real clients alongside people who do this for a living. As a film production major you are eligible for merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid, and more than half of film production students receive a department scholarship, such as the Ainlay, Geigley, Gorsline, Joel Kauffmann, and Kornhaus & Smith scholarships.
