My degree taught me to determine where to look for information, ask critical questions, gather data, organize it, analyze it, tease out insights, synthesize, and report out. Those skills lend themselves to countless occupations. Even more important, though, my history education has made me a more critical thinker and consequently influences how I see the world.

Opened in 2020, the Center for Communication Studies at Goshen College brings together the award-winning television, radio, print and other media curriculars under one roof.
Students are able to meet in one place and collaborate as one team. A department that has won a steady stream of statewide and national awards has found a new home with high energy and round-the-clock activity, with Globe Radio announcers on the air and student staff in a bustling newsroom.
Career PathsThe field of broadcasting combines many different aspects, including public speaking, ethical practices of communication, new technology, writing for media, cultural responses to communication methods, and investigative reporting, among others. In today’s highly connected job market, employers value strong communication ability through a variety of forms.

This means that our students have access to the latest trends and technologies in visual communications and electronic media, and our graduates go on from GC with a resume that will stand out in a competitive job market.
Broadcasting students at Goshen College have numerous opportunities to apply their classroom learning and to test their vocational interests. Students can develop leadership skills in radio broadcasting at WGCS: The Globe and enhance their video production skills
