Glen Oaks – Goshen College Transition Program

If you applied to Goshen College for your first year of college and were not admitted, you may be eligible for the Glen Oaks – Goshen College Transition Program.

This program allows you to be reconsidered for admission to Goshen College based on your college GPA rather than your high school GPA.

How to opt in to the Transition Program:

1. Complete the Glen Oaks – Goshen College Transition Program Contract within six months of receiving your initial admissions decision from Goshen College. Email admissions@goshen.edu to receive a link to the contract.

2. Enroll at Glen Oaks Community College and complete the following required coursework:

a. ENGL 121 (English Composition I)

b. COMM 150 (Public Speaking)

c. A math course  (note: the math course can be remedial, but if you take a remedial math course, you’ll need to complete a second non-remedial course (in any subject) of your choice).

d. One additional non-remedial course of your choice. While not required, we encourage you to select one of these courses that can be counted towards your general education requirements at Goshen College.

3. Send your official transcript from Glen Oaks to Goshen College once you’ve completed all of the courses outlined above, and have received at least 12 credits. If you attended other colleges either before or after enrolling at Glen Oaks, please also have official transcripts sent from those colleges to Goshen College.

Program participants with 12-23 college credits must have a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or higher to be reconsidered for admission to Goshen College. Program participants with 24 or more college credits must have a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher to be reconsidered for admission to GC.

Once your transcript has been received, you will be contacted by a Goshen College admissions representative to confirm your new admissions decision. You will not need to submit a new admissions application.
