Healthcare is one of the largest employers on earth, and someone has to run it. That someone can be you.
The Healthcare Management minor at Goshen College pairs real business management, people, operations, and marketing, with public health: how health systems work, how policy is made, and how care is delivered around the world.
Every country has hospitals, clinics, insurers, and health programs, and all of them need people who can manage budgets, teams, and operations without losing sight of the patient. It’s a practical, portable edge you can carry into almost any career, and almost any country.

The minor is built where management and health actually meet. You learn how to run teams and systems, and how to reach the people with a service is meant to help. Then you are shown the rules, funding, and worldwide realities those systems operate inside.
It’s the kind of practical fluency that strengthens whatever you already do, in a hospital, a clinic, a nonprofit, an insurer, or your own plans for life after graduation.
There’s an endless list of ways that we’ve been collaborating with Goshen College. It’s not often that you have a health system and a college directly across the street from one another. That allows us to be efficient and capitalize on the resources that we each have.

Scholarships make up a large portion of Goshen financial aid packages, which average almost $26,000 per student, not counting work-study or loans. As students in a business program, accounting majors may also qualify for endowed awards including the Sauder Scholarship and the Gorsline Scholarship. The 18-credit minor combines three business courses, People & Culture Management (BUS 315), Marketing Management (BUS 316), and Operations Management (BUS 318), with three public health courses: Introduction to Public Health (PUBH 200), Public Health Policy & Administration (PUBH 310), and Perspectives in Global Health (PUBH 320).
You’ll be able to manage the people, operations, and marketing that keep a healthcare organization running, and understand how public health systems, policy, and global health shape the care it delivers. In short, you’ll speak both languages, business and health, that hospitals, clinics, and health programs depend on.
Especially well with exercise science, public health, nursing, biology, sport management, and business, but it strengthens almost any major. Wherever your field touches clinics, wellness, insurance, or health programs, this minor adds the management and public-health side that turns good intentions into organizations that actually run.
Two things. The minor mirrors the Healthcare Management concentration in the Business major, so the same six courses apply. And like every business minor at Goshen, you must earn a grade of C- or higher in each course required for the minor. Your advisor can help you map it out.
