The ITS Department maintains four modern technology computer labs for use by students, faculty and staff.
Schertz Computer Center
Union Building
Location: Basement of Union Building
The Schertz Computer Center is divided up into two areas: UN 002 and UN 004:
- UN 002 is a collaborative work space that is open for general student use. There are 3 collaborative work stations that can accommodate 5 people each. Each collaborative work space has a large monitor that students can connect their personal devices to so that they can project their device’s screen.
- UN 004 is a computer lab that can be reserved for classes or used for general student use when a class is not in session. UN 004 has 1 instructor station and 20 student computers. Each computer in UN 004 is an iMac running the Mac operating system, and has software for connecting to a virtual Windows computer. The lab has a ceiling mounted data projector to project the image from the instructor station’s monitor.
Library Lab
Good Library
To assist students’ library research, the library lab is located on the first floor of the Good Library. The hours of the library lab are the same as the Good Library’s. The library lab also serves as a classroom when requested. The GL 102 lab has 24 student computers and 1 instructor station. There is also a ceiling mounted data projector to project the image from the instructor station’s monitor.
AD 21
Administration Building
AD 21 Lab is located in Administration Building, Room 21. It is used frequently during the day as classroom and conference room. Tables at the center of the classroom facilitate pedagogy where there is a mix of group discussion and individual computer work, such as writing courses. The lab has 15 student computers and one instructor station. There is also a ceiling mounted data projector to project the image from the instructor station monitor.
