Phyllis and Bud Wulliman Music Scholarship

Bud and Phyllis Imhoff Wulliman were raised in homes where music was an important form of expression. Each had parents that not only loved to listen to music but were also able to sing or play instruments.  An appreciation for very fine and thoughtful performing is a vivid memory Phyllis has from early childhood.  While Bud & Phyllis, nor their parents, were/are professional musicians high regard has been given to those who perform and teach. Each of our parents loved to sing. Bud’s mother was a church organist and private piano teacher all her life.  Phyllis’ mother taught piano privately and public high school music and was a pianist and church organist most of her life.

Bud is a retired Biology, Science, and Social Studies Teacher of 30 years from Elkhart Community Schools (Pierre Moran Junior High and Central).  His love of the environment has been reflected in ‘extreme’ gardening and multiple Marine Biology trips with high school students.

Phyllis is a retired Music Educator.  Her teaching career included private piano lessons and Elementary Music in Kindergarten through Grade 6 settings, with a few years of experience in high school settings.  Also, she enjoyed assignments as church organist.  Even in retirement her love for bringing the joy of music to children and families continues with participation in the Music Together program at Goshen College’s Community School for the Arts.
