La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing Memorial Scholarship Fund

In 1918 the La Junta (Colo.) Mennonite School of Nursing graduated its first class of students.  Forty years later the class of 1958 became the last graduating class.

In 1987 the La Junta alumnae established a scholarship fund to honor and keep alive the spirit of the La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing.

The fund aids Christian young men and women in pursuing their career in the field of nursing and health maintenance. This is to follow the example of Jesus while He was here on earth and went about doing good, serving suffering humanity and ministering to the whole person.  To remember Christ’s command to “Go ye into all the world….” is to be emphasized strongly, as it has been since the founding of the Nursing School.
