Monday, January 8, 2024
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. — Residential Students: Check-In and Move-In | Welcome Center, Union (UN) *
All new residential students will go through check-in between 9 and 10 a.m. Pick up your NSO folder and name tag and meet with the following offices:
- Information Technology Services (ITS): confirm your GC login/password, submit your iPad Agreement, and pick up your iPad (opt-out available)
- Health Services: submit your Confidential Health Form
- Campus Safety: verify your emergency contact information is on file
- Registrar’s Office: complete the Personal Information Update (PIU)
- Financial Aid: confirm your financial aid
- Accounting Office: confirm your payment plan for the spring semester
- ITS Media: take your ID picture and pick up your card
- Residence Life: pick up your room key
Union Dining will be open for lunch. Students with a full (carte blanche) meal plan will swipe for lunch with their new ID cards. The cost of lunch will be covered for new students without a meal plan, those on the limited (65-block) meal plan, and parents and family members staying for move-in; sign in at the cashier’s station.
This is the last scheduled event for parents and family members.

1 – 1:30 p.m. — Welcome & Introductions | Admissions Conference Room, Union (UN) 111 *
Meet other new students starting in January and review the schedule for New Student Orientation (NSO).
1:30 – 3 p.m. — Academic Information Session | Admissions Conference Room, Union (UN) 111 *
Meet with members from the Registrar’s Office and Academic Success Center. This session introduces Goshen College academics, including the CORE (general education) requirements. Students will review their course schedules, receive information on their advising appointment, and learn about available academic resources.
Students opting out of the iPad program should bring their device (a laptop or tablet) to campus for NSO sessions.
3 – 4 p.m. — Moodle & Library iTour | Admissions Conference Room, Union (UN) 111 and Good Library (GL) *
Students will have an overview of Moodle, an introduction to Library staff members, and an iTour of Good Library using iPads or personal devices.
5 – 7 p.m. — Dining hall open for dinner | Union Dining (UN)

9 – 10:15 a.m. — Student Life Overview | Wyse, 108B (WY) *
Meet our Student Life team members and learn how their work supports your success at GC. Offices include campus activities, campus ministries, campus safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, health services, and residence life. Students will also learn what it means to be in a community with one another, how we each contribute to the overall well-being of our campus, and how to get involved at GC.
10:15 – 11 a.m. — Student Panel | Wyse, 108B (WY) *
Hear from current Goshen College students about their college experience during an informative Q&A session.
11 a.m. – 12 p.m. — Campus Tour| Wyse, 108B (WY) *
Walk through your class schedule with a current GC student or employee and find out where each class meets before the first day of classes. The tour will depart from Wyse 108B.
12 – 1 p.m. — Lunch | Union Dining (UN)

Transfer students will have lunch with Transfer Advisor Natasha Teegardin in the Admissions conference room (UN 111).

Meet with your advisor to review your schedule. You will be given an appointment time during check-in on Monday. The advising appointment will be 30 minutes long.
1 – 3 p.m. — Drop-in hours for Academic Success Center (ASC) | ASC, Good Library (GL)
Stop in and chat with members of the Academic Success Center and follow up on the resources offered.
