8:30 – 9:15 a.m. — NSO Check-In | Church-Chapel, Fellowship Hall
Pick up your NSO folder and name tag and receive additional information from several campus departments. Continental breakfast provided.
1 | Information Technology Services (ITS): confirm GC login/password, submit iPad Agreement
2 | Health Services: submit Confidential Health Form
3 | Financial Aid: accept financial aid
4 | Accounting Office: submit Financial Responsibility Agreement, set up payment plan
5 | Campus Safety: submit emergency contact information
6 | ITS Media: take ID picture or pick up ID card if picture was submitted online
7 | Academic Success Center (ASC) & Accessibility Services: meet with someone to talk about accommodations
9:30 a.m. — Welcome | Church-Chapel, Fellowship Hall
The Office of Orientation, Transition, and Retention (OTR) will provide an overview of the day and what to expect from attending New Student Orientation.
9:45 a.m. — Writing Assessment (students) | Newcomer, NC 17
Students will respond to a short writing prompt to identify a baseline for the incoming cohort and determine placement for Academic Voice for students taking this class.
9:45 a.m. — Becoming College Ready (parents and families) | Church-Chapel, Fellowship Hall (English), Church-Chapel, Koinonia Room, CC 300-301 (Spanish)
Parents and families will hear how Goshen College supports student transition through relationships with parents and families.
10:30 a.m. — Rotating Sessions | Various locations
Students will be divided into three groups and rotate between sessions. Parents & family members will join their student for the Successful Transitions session.
Advising | Church-Chapel, Gathering Rooms, CC 141-144
Hosted by the Registrar’s Office
Students will begin their advising experience by reviewing their preliminary schedule, meeting some ICC professors, and gaining some understanding of what academic records are needed (AP/IB/dual credits) prior to the start of school.
Parents & Families: You are welcome to relax in the Hunsberger Art Gallery while your student is doing their advising session.
Academic Prep | Good Library, GL 102
Hosted by the Academic Success Center (ASC) and the Good Library
Students will take the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) and learn about the various academic supports offered by Goshen College.
Successful Transitions | Union, UN 004 (English), and Church-Chapel, Koinonia Room, CC 300-301 (Spanish)
Hosted by the Office of Orientation, Transition, and Retention
This interactive session for students, parents & families will have you identify your next steps to transition to Goshen College successfully. Topics include: where to find information, required forms, paying for college, transportation, iPads, and other technology, buying books, and family communication.
12 Noon — Lunch | Westlawn Dining Hall
Complimentary lunch provided. Students, parents, and family members will have an opportunity to eat lunch together.
1 p.m. — Rotating Sessions | Various Locations
Sessions will continue after lunch.
2 p.m. — Closing | Church-Chapel, Fellowship Hall

2:30 – 4:00 — Information Fair | Church-Chapel, Fellowship Hall
Campus departments will be available at the Information Fair to answer questions. Students should review their checklist and make sure they have completed any final tasks before leaving campus.
