REL 215 Religion & Health

This course explores how diverse religious traditions engage issues of health and medical care. How do religions understand health and disease, and how do they pursue well-being and healing? What does spirituality have to do with the body, and can religious practice promote health? How does faith or religious membership impact healthcare decision-making and health outcomes? How do social factors influence individual and public health, and what roles do religions play? We examine these and similar questions, and consider along the way how today’s health systems can engage religious differences and collaborate with diverse partners with understanding and care. A Religious World course in the Goshen Core.
