MUS 204 Western Music and Expression

Western Music and Expression is an Artistic World course that engages students in listening to, interpreting, and reflecting on music in the Western tradition as a form of human expression. Through historical and cultural perspectives, students explore how music has been understood as expressing order, emotion, spirituality, and identity. Emphasizing artistic expereince and personal reflection, the course invites students to develop an informed appresicaton for music’s beauty and meaning, and to articulate their own understanding of how music shapes and reflects the world around us. An Artistic World course in the Goshen Core.
