An introduction to the study of data science focusing on the fundamentals of statistics through practical applications of work with data. Students will learn to think critically about data, where it comes from, and how it is used to support claims and build their data literacy skills by learning to interpret, analyze, and draw conclusions from data. Basic programming skills will be developed as students learn how to import, organize, and summarize data using a programming language. Recommended background is an ALEKS score of at least 30 or completion of MATH 105. Meets the Quantitative Literacy requirement in the Goshen Core.
