Goshen College is again among the nearly 350 colleges named to the Colleges of Distinction list for 2015-16. The college is one of only seven Indiana colleges and 55 Christian colleges listed.
The College of Distinction designation is given to select schools to honor their excellence in student-focused higher education. To earn the distinction, schools must excel in four distinctive areas and will receive a personal profile on the Colleges of Distinction website. These include:
- Engaged students: students take an active part in their learning
- Great teaching: professors care about helping students learn to think for themselves
- Vibrant community: active campuses and communities with many opportunities for personal development
- Successful outcomes: Students are equipped to find better solutions in the workplace and in the world
Colleges of Distinction is a web-based guide for high school juniors and seniors seeking a school that is nationally recognized and highly recommended by education professionals. Colleges and universities are nominated for participation by high school counselors, and then evaluated using qualitative and quantitative research. The colleges and universities are not ranked and instead are members of a consortium of other equally impressive schools.
