63rd annual Concerto-Aria Concert to showcase seven student musicians Feb. 18

Seven student winners of the 2022-23 Goshen College Concerto-Aria Competition will perform arias and individual concerto movements with the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Viktoria Petrak, interim GCSO conductor, in the 63rd annual Concerto-Aria Concert on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.

Performing are:

    • ​Hannah Lehman, a junior music and secondary education major from Huntington, Indiana and Alena Miller, a junior Spanish and secondary education major from Huntington, Indiana will perform Mendelssohn Concerto for Piano, Violin and Strings in D minor, mvt. 3;
    • Ana Neufeld Weaver, a junior music and secondary education major from Bluffton, Ohio, will perform Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, mvt 1;
    • Sofia Sanchez, a junior music major from Elkhart, will perform Wieniawski Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 22, mvt. 1;
    • Alexa Kennel, a senior environmental and marine science major from Souderton, Pennsylvania will perform Dvorak “Mesicku na nebi hlubokem” from Rusalka;
    • April Pollock, soprano, a senior music major from Goshen will perform Mozart “In Uomini, in Soldati” from Così fan tutte;
    • Victor Vegas, a sophomore music major from Goshen will perform the composition “Triumph at Last”
