Goshen College choirs to perform opera scenes in winter concert

Winter Choral Concert: Goshen College Choirs, “An Evening of Opera”
Date and time: Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
Location: Sauder Concert Hall, Goshen College Music Center
Tickets: $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, available at the door one hour before the concert. GC faculty/staff/students free with ID.

The Goshen College Choirs will welcome the Fairfield High School Concert Choir to the Sauder Concert Hall stage in the Music Center to perform scenes from various operas throughout music history in their winter concert on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The choirs will perform scenes from operas by Giuseppi Verdi, Jacques Offenbach, Gilbert & Sullivan and more. The scenes will be lightly staged and accompanied on piano by Christine Larson Seitz and Chara Sonntag.

Performing will be the Goshen College Chorale, Men’s Chorus and Women’s World Music Choir. Also featured will be the Fairfield High School Concert Choir, directed by Ben Kambs, as well as Allison Yoder, lyric soprano and 2011 GC graduate. The Goshen College Choirs are directed by Professor of Music Dr. Debra Brubaker and Associate Professor or Music Dr. Scott Hochstetler.

Tickets cost $7 adults, $5 seniors/students, and are available at the door one hour before the concert. Goshen College faculty, staff, and students are free with valid ID.
