I hope that this lent we are able to reflect on the brokenness in our lives, and drink in the living water of God that reconciles and refines in our times of tribulation.
What is your Rock? The essence of this question stems from the inner struggle of learning what you put your trust in.
Remember God’s promise: that from the Rock of our Salvation, Jesus, will come living water for our thirsty souls. Stay hydrated in that knowledge on this year’s journey to the Cross.
Why is it so difficult for us to blindly trust God? Why is it difficult to have faith like Abraham did?
You are loved, you are kept, you are protected. There is no end to God’s presence.
Jesus showed us how to pray. It is a simple and direct way to follow him.
God does not promise us that we will never be tempted by those short term things that sound good, look good or feel good. Even Jesus, a figure fully God and fully human, encountered temptation.
This year’s Lenten theme is “Show Us.” I interpret this as asking Jesus to “show us” what it means to live a life faithful to the Christian calling. “Show us” what it means to live lives of compassion and empathy. “Show us” what it means to live out Jesus’ teaching. “Show us” what it means to work for justice for all of God’s people.
That Good News is here for us, if only we accept Mary’s message of newness, excitement and hope. Are we ready to believe women?
On this Friday before Easter we remember that Jesus’s body lay in a tomb, subject to decay
