God’s gifts and safety are not those of isolation. We live in “the shelter of the Most High,” but we must also live as “Light-Bearers.”
This Lent, our focus is “Seeking God’s Ways.” But don’t worry! We won’t let this be a grim and tedious litany of the ways we get it all wrong.
As the Lenten season begins, Goshen College will again offer an online resource to help believers make time and space in their hearts and minds to reflect during the season of Lent.
As you are with your family this season – or not, as the case may be – remember that Jesus also grew up in a family, full of love and commitment but also misunderstandings and wrong assumptions and crossed signals.
Now, in this season we are called to remember God’s greatest expression of love for us, which is the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, clothed in flesh. And for this we are grateful.
Just imagine being wrapped in God’s love. How will you feel it today?
How is God nudging us to dare to imagine trying on God’s robe in some new and stretching ways?
Over this time of advent, what do you want to praise God for?
When I think of God’s shining face in this most humble of circumstances, it convicts me of how I should let my face shine toward others. Even off Zoom.
God shows God’s face. “My soul glorifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.” May it be so.
