Goshen College choirs perform Winter Choral Concert Feb. 13 February 5, 2010
Four Goshen College choirs will present sacred and secular choral music as part of the annual Winter Choral Concert on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center's Sauder Concert Hall. Performing will be the Goshen College Chorale and Men's Chorus, directed by Assistant Professor of Music Scott Hochstetler, and the Goshen College Chamber Choir and Women's World Music Choir, directed by Professor of Music Debra Brubaker.
Goshen College explores supervisory leadership skills in afternoon course February 5, 2010
Enrollment is open for Goshen College Business Department's continuing education program "Developing Supervisory Leadership – Part I" course this spring, designed for newly appointed supervisors and managers who feel the need to refresh and improve the skills necessary to their performance as a leaders of organizations.

This year Goshen College's Management Development Program offers a three-week mid-winter "Lunch and Learn" series targeted to administrative support staff looking to improve work habits and the work environment through lunchtime seminars in Goshen piloted by experienced community leaders.

Local youngsters to tap sugar bush, enjoy sticky-sweet syrup at Merry Lea February 4, 2010
Some 1,100 elementary students from 20 area schools and homeschool groups, along with their parents and teachers, will find environmental learning to be sugary-sweet at Sugar Bush 2010, sponsored by the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College. This day-long, hands-on experience in maple syrup making takes place at the Yoder Sugar Bush near Huntertown, Ind. The events are sponsored by the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College.
Paul Kenyon to perform solo piano recital of Chopin music in honor of 200th anniversary February 4, 2010
Visiting guest artist and pianist Paul Kenyon will perform a solo piano recital on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Goshen College Music Center's Rieth Recital Hall. The program will feature works by Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin in celebration of 2010 being the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth. Highlighting the second half of the program will be a performance of all 24 of Chopin's Preludes, Op. 28.
Frederick Hohman, from South Bend, to perform Valentine's Day organ recital February 4, 2010
Organist, composer and music producer Frederick Hohman, of South Bend, will perform a Valentine's Day organ recital on the Opus 41 pipe organ on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center's Rieth Recital Hall. This recital is part of the 2009-2010 Organ and Hymn Sing Sunday Series.
Area schools to compete in Science Olympiad at Goshen College, Feb. 13 February 3, 2010
Eighteen area Science Olympiad teams will be at Goshen College on Saturday, Feb. 13 to compete in one of the nine regional Indiana Science Olympiad competitions. They will be competing for a spot in the state, and possibly national, competition.
Celtic Christian worship leader John Bell to present chapels Feb. 17, 19 February 3, 2010
John Bell, of Scotland's Iona Community, will be at Goshen College Feb. 17-19, and leading two chapel services open to the public. On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m., he will lead a service on "Songs of Iona," and on Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m., he will preach about "Ten Things They Never Told Me About Jesus."

Goshen College's 39th annual nursing mock convention to focus on justice in health care January 29, 2010
While the health care debate rages nationally, Goshen College's 39th annual Nursing Mock Convention on Friday, Feb. 5 will bring nursing students together in critical discussions on the theme, "Mandate for Nursing: Health Promotion and Justice in Health Care." Nursing students will debate student-proposed resolutions on the topics of Human Papilloma Virus vaccines, determining unnecessary health care (futility) and federal funding for abortions.
Goshen College students speak for peace in annual oratorical contest, Feb. 9 January 28, 2010
Seven Goshen College students will speak Tuesday, Feb. 9 about issues of peace and justice for the annual C. Henry Smith Oratorical Contest. The contest begins at 7 p.m. and takes place in the Umble Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Music Together classes offered around county for infants and young children January 27, 2010
This spring, the Goshen College Music Center is offering a session of Music Together® classes in an effort to bring the joy of singing and music learning to children from birth to age 7. The classes are being offered at eight locations in Elkhart County.
