John D. Roth, Editor

Besides editing The Mennonite Quarterly Review, John D. Roth is Professor of History, Director of the Mennonite Historical Library and Directory of the Institute for the Study of Global Anabaptism at Goshen College. He received his PhD in Early Modern European History from the University of Chicago in 1986 and has been teaching at Goshen College since 1987. His most recent books areTeaching that Transforms: Why Anabaptist-Mennonite Education Matters (Herald Press, 2011); Practices: Mennonite Worship and Witness (Herald Press, 2009); A Companion to Anabaptism and Spiritualism, 1521-1700, co-edited with James Stayer (Brill, 2007); Stories: How Mennonites Came to Be (Herald Press, 2006); and Beliefs: Mennonite Faith and Practice (Herald Press, 2005). John is married to Ruth Miller Roth; he and Ruth are the parents of four adult daughters and are active members of Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship.
