Assistant/Associate Professor of Information Technology

Position Summary:

Goshen College offers undergraduate majors in accounting, business, marketing, information technology, sustainability management, and minors in all five of those areas plus entrepreneurship and global economics. An asynchronous, online undergraduate program in Business Management was launched in August 2023. An MBA program, that includes a 4+1 pathway for undergraduate students, is offered through a collaborative arrangement with Eastern Mennonite University, Bluffton University and Canadian Mennonite University through synchronous videoconferencing using Zoom.

The Goshen College business department programs enroll more students than any other academic department. Continuing growth in student enrollment in the business programs and recent changes in our program curriculum allows us to add capacity and expertise to our team. Business department faculty teach a broad array of courses and we are seeking candidates with an ability to teach foundational IT courses, programming, project management, databases, computer networking, operating systems, and IT management.

Position Duties: 

  • Design and teach undergraduate in-person and online courses
  • Serve as an academic and career advisor for information technology students
  • Create opportunities that connect students with employers
  • Develop and build relationships with the local and regional business communities
  • Participate in student recruitment activities and events

Position Qualifications:

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master’s degree (MBA or other business-related or IT-related master’s degree)
    • Relevant and significant work experience in a business organization
  • OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity

    • Collaborative and team-oriented
    • Adaptive with teaching strategies and learning activities
    • Able to integrate relevant technology in teaching

    • Able to identify new opportunities for department programs and student learning
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience designing and/or teaching asynchronous, online courses
    • Previous college-level teaching load of 6-8 different courses per academic year
    • Manager-level role and responsibilities in a business organization
