This blog shares the experiences of Goshen College students participating in the Study-Service Term in India.
Over three immersive weeks, students are exploring the theme of ecological justice while traveling from bustling cities to the Himalayan foothills, witnessing the incredible diversity of landscapes and ways people relate to the land and each other. Through field study, cultural encounters, and service opportunities that focus on environmental sustainability and community well-being, they are learning how ecological and social systems intertwine in one of the world’s most vibrant democracies. From early morning market visits to treks above 12,000 feet and conversations with local partners, these reflections invite readers into the moments that are shaping students’ understanding of community, stewardship, and global connection.
