A long journey!

May 03 2025

There is no quick way to get to India from Indiana. We gathered bright and early at the Welcome Center to say goodbye to our friends and family. After announcements and Pastor Jen’s send-off, we clambered on the bus and waved farewell with the Ecuador group.

Send-off from Welcome Center

Due to the rift between India and Pakistan, we had to fly around Pakistan. This lengthened our flight by an hour, but we were thrilled not to stop in Vienna to refuel. Regardless, it was a long process, and we were on the plane for well over 17 hours all told.

We landed in Delhi and checked our immigration paperwork.

Vinny and Vipul met us as soon as we walked out of customs. They have been crucial partners with Jonathon in planning our trip. Vinny handles logistics from Delhi, and Vipul, from Hanifl Center, will be with us throughout our time in India. We ate dinner and hit the hay as soon as we got to the YWCA.
