Enrollment Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:

The role of the Enrollment Marketing Specialist is to implement Goshen College’s recruitment communication strategy. A vital part of the Admissions team, this role’s primary responsibilities include the fulfillment and deployment of targeted, customized print and digital communications. The Enrollment Marketing Specialist will oversee the creation and rollout of key communication workflows that support and enhance Admission’s ability to recruit and enroll prospective students.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about and has facility with effectively using marketing and technology solutions to deliver impactful communications to prospective students and families.

Essential Functions: (Core Job Responsibilities)

  • Own the implementation and execution of print and digital communications from Admissions to prospective students and families for all traditional and adult and graduate programs
    • Project Manage: Maintain, drive, and execute the communications calendar, articulating and managing deadlines, statuses, and reports.
    • Develop campaigns: Build, monitor, report, and adjust
    • Schedule and facilitate meetings to review and refine communication tactics (i.e. timing, content, and audience)
  • Administer and manage the primary Admissions marketing communication tools (e.g. marketing automation and text messaging)
    • Understand the configuration, limitations, and potential between marketing automation and CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments and stakeholders:
    • Supervisor and strategic partners to align with message and brand standards
    • Salesforce CRM Administrator to validate data, including accurate campaign audiences, addresses, text, and deliverability
    • Printing and Mailing to coordinate direct mail campaigns
  • Identify potential process improvements
  • Other job-related instructions as required by the supervisor

Required Skills & Competencies

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All job requirements listed below indicate the minimum knowledge, skills, and/or ability necessary to perform the job proficiently:

  • Experience with marketing automation tools and integrated CRMs or similar relational database systems
  • Excellent project management, data analysis, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload
  • Communicate effectively, particularly in response to time-sensitive topics
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Highly motivated by results and accuracy
  • Ability to think critically and creatively while developing and executing effective marketing and outreach plans

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years experience in Marketing, Communications, college admissions, or related field
  • Equivalent combination of listed education and experience
  • Prior experience with marketing automation tools and workflow management

Preferred:

  • Prior experience leading and managing cross-functional teams in management and execution of Admissions recruitment communications
  • Prior experience with Marketo
  • Prior experience with Cadence (or other texting platform)
  • Prior experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Prior experience in higher education

Special Requirements:

  • Maintenance and technical support duties are occasionally required outside of normal work hours.
  • Professional development conferences may require some travel.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift light loads (up to 25 pounds)
  • Prolonged sitting/standing and use of keyboard
  • Ability to complete primary tasks by viewing computer screen(s) for the majority of any given workday (extensive use of computer technology)
  • Some phone use and other standard office equipment
  • Meetings may involve movement around campus
  • Some special projects may include setting up displays

Work Environment/Environmental Conditions:

  • Work will primarily take place in a standard indoor office environment
