    Goshen College recently recognized 226 students, for excellence in academics, on the 2009-10 fall semester Dean's List.

The New GC 'School of Thought'" -- based on 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 -- Brenneman juxtaposed the prior "school of thought" of a culture of dissent with the new "school of thought" of a culture of assent, and affirmed that both are needed. The president gave much credit to President Emeritus J. Lawrence Burkholder, who attended and was recognized during the service.

Alumnus Peter J. Dyck dies at age 95 after life of service and storytelling January 5, 2010

    Peter J. Dyck, a 1952 Goshen College alumnus, was born in Lysanderhöh, Russia, on Dec. 4, 1914. He died Jan. 4, 2010 of cancer at the age of 95.

Jim Caskey is named vice president for institutional advancement December 22, 2009

    Goshen College President Jim Brenneman named Jim Caskey as the new vice president for institutional advancement, a key position on the President's Council. Caskey started working at Goshen College in 1997 in the Development Office, and most recently served as interim vice president for several months. He will begin in this new role on Jan. 1, 2010.

Student recuperating after off-campus train accident December 10, 2009

    Goshen College sophomore Daniel Martin of Salem, Ore., was injured in a train accident early in the morning on Dec. 8, but is healing from his non-life threatening injuries.

Three Goshen College students' 'This I Believe' essays air Nov. 17-Dec 1 November 16, 2009

    The public radio station in Elkhart, Ind., WVPE-88.1 FM (www.wvpe.org), has selected essays by three Goshen College students to air the Tuesdays between Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 on the "This I Believe" segment of its program. All of the pieces are scheduled to air at 7:35 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m.
