Visit from N. Irish author Tony Macaulay

May 31 2026

On Saturday night, Northern Irish author Tony Macaulay visited our group to answer student questions and read from his book Paperboy, which the students were assigned to read before the start of the class. Paperboy tells the story of Macaulay’s first job, delivering papers, which he got when he was 12–a pretty standard first-job story, except he had to deliver his papers in Belfast during the Troubles.

Some of the Corrymeela volunteer residents joined us for the event, and the students asked excellent questions about writing, history, and Macaulay’s ongoing peacemaking work. Thank you for visiting, Tony!
