During my service placement at the municipal Centro Médico in Riobamba, I had the privilege to be able to work alongside other nurses. Day to day each patient comes in to register for their appointment and I welcome them in to then start their check-up.
I work alongside a nurse, Anna Pura Solis Bona, while she takes signals from the patients. I see she knows all patients well and has conversations with each one on a personal level despite having thousands of different patients registered.
Even being new, they welcomed me with open arms and showed care. When I had a cold, I was given this mask to help breathe. This showed how here in the “Centro de Salud” they will try their best to treat all their patients with respect and care, as their goal is to treat patients and prevent illness before they show up.
