On Saturday, June 20, our students departed for a new host family and a new setting to begin their Service Term, the second half of SST. Stay tuned for more updates about the communities in which the students are living and the volunteer work they're doing with nonprofits, community organizations, and municipal governments!

Cherishing Moments Together

Today was a recreational day with host families. While some students went to Los Chorritos de Villalba, the students from El Barrio de la Plata went to La Playa Escambrón in San Juan. It was a day of rest and refreshment after long days full of activities.
The students of La Plata lounged in the sand enjoying the sun or the view of La Playa. Other students would dive in and enjoy the cool water to escape the heat of the day. We visited different places to take pictures, we went from seeing turtles swimming around to standing on hands at Cayey, to experiencing a power outage at Walmart. We were shown around different parts, even food (lechon restaurant) from la Isla de Encanto.
Overall, this was a day filled with moments where host families and students were able to spend time together!
