MDS Service Day #2

May 09 2023

We did not arrive in Red Lake with a lot of collective construction skills or experience (not including Dale). Despite this fact, in the past 48 hours, our group has laid flooring, primed and painted walls, cut trim, installed toilets, hung lights, built bunk beds, and unloaded ceiling tiles. There is no doubt that we are tired and sore, in addition to being well fed and cared for by the MDS long term volunteer team. We will spend this week getting the volunteer center ready for us to move into but plan to transition our focus next week to re-siding houses for Red Lake residents impacted by two tornadoes last year.
