Data Analysis and Paper Writing

Sunday May 16, 2021

This morning there was no lecture, so we were all able to sleep in a little more than usual, if we chose to do so. We also had the option of attending church. As our trip started to come to a close, we began finishing up our research papers and posters. Throughout the day, we continued to study for our last exam of the trip. It is a bittersweet feeling knowing that we have to leave soon. I am looking forward to being able to go home and see friends and family, but I am going to miss the weather here in the Keys. All nine of us students are from the Midwest, so I think most of us are dreading the change in weather and scenery.

To take a break from studying, some of us decided to go swimming at the resort’s pool. Afterwards, we all got together for our Sunday dinner, Ryan’s grilling. We ate burgers and hot dogs as we enjoyed the view looking out into the ocean. We finished the night by watching the sunset and studying a little more before heading to bed and getting ourselves ready for the exam in the morning.

Even though these past weeks have been busy and challenging at times, I have enjoyed being part of such a great team. I am glad to be back home this week, but I am also excited to come back here for the fall semester and continue the research.
