Leichty defeated Republican newcomer Benjamin Rogers to become Goshen’s first female mayor. According to the unofficial results, she won with 54% of the vote.
For the first time in the history of the Goshen cross country programs, both the men's and women's teams have qualified for the 2023 NAIA Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, Washington. Unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand this summer, you’ve probably heard of the Merlin Bird ID App. It’s a creation of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that allows you to identify birds you see or hear, with ease. Maple Leafs pitcher and first baseman Alisyn Catenacci was experiencing the highest of highs in mid-March earlier this year. She played an instrumental leadership role, on the mound and at the plate, in Goshen’s historic season, which saw them set the program conference wins record and tie the record for overall wins in a season. For all her success during the year, it is hard to believe that her career was in jeopardy last August. Yet she continues to be a leader on the field and in the classroom.
Tim Wilkening has yet to play in a soccer game with Goshen College. However, he has made his presence known around campus since arriving in January. Wilkening has also learned a lot over the last year. He has learned about the United States after coming from Germany. He has learned how to recover from a broken tibia. Mennonite Church USA Executive Board staff has named Olivia Krall '23 as archives coordinator for the MC USA Archives in Elkhart. Krall holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Goshen College, with minors in political studies and sociology.
