Goshen College will host its sixth annual day of giving, Connect Goshen Day, on Tuesday, March 24. With a theme of “Ever Goshen,” the day will include online matching-gift challenges, gatherings of alumni and friends around the country, advocacy opportunities, and even the chance to name a campus squirrel.
The celebration encourages alumni, students and supporters to invest in Goshen College’s future through donations and participation, sustaining the college’s commitment to excellence in education and service. Online activities will run throughout the day, featuring special challenges and competitions designed to amplify donations and build community engagement.

“Connect Goshen Day is a powerful reminder that the spirit of Goshen does not end at graduation. It lives on in the lives of alumni, friends and supporters who believe in our students and want to be part of what comes next,” said Jodi Beyeler, vice president for institutional advancement. “This day is an invitation to celebrate that enduring connection, make a meaningful difference together and have a lot of fun in the process.”
As part of the excitement, alumni and friends will gather at 20 events across the country and the world, stretching from Florida to Oregon to Canada — and, of course, to Goshen. These gatherings will provide opportunities to connect, celebrate and support Goshen College’s mission.
Various challenges and competitions will be held throughout the day, thanks to generous contributions of donor-funded challenges. For example, if 50 donors give early gifts before the day even begins, it will unlock $20,000. The challenges will all drive participation, encouraging the idea that a gift of any size is valuable and helps reach GC’s goals.
Additionally, this year will feature the return of the popular “name-a-squirrel” challenge! For a gift of $18.94 or more — commemorating the year Goshen College was founded — donors will be able to name their very own squirrel on GC’s campus, in connection to GC’s official mascot Dash, a black squirrel.
This year, Connect Goshen Day also features the opportunity to be an advocate, spreading the GC story across social media networks and through direct engagement with family and friends. Thank you gifts and prizes of Goshen College swag are available to participating advocates.
