Goshen College celebrated its intercultural teaching and learning community and its growing relationship and friendship with the Mexican government at a campus reception and celebratory dinner Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Whether its members are sharing a meal together, singing “Home on the Range” as is tradition, or providing financial support, the Goshen Rotary Club has enabled GC students from Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Korea, Mongolia and various other countries to learn about the Goshen community and establish relationships with its leaders. In the past 53 years, the Rotary Club has provided scholarships to almost 100 GC international students.
The Mexican Consulate in Indianapolis and Goshen College will together award $40,000 in scholarship aid to GC students of Mexican heritage during the 2014-15 school year.
GENEX Services, LLC, has awarded Goshen College $20,000 for scholarships in the nursing program.
The Leaf Scholarships are made possible by a new five-year grant of $598,000 donated by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The scholarship will support academically talented first-generation college students that are pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
