AlgaeTown project explores the future of biofuel, turns to crowdfunding for support

Aaron Kauffman and Dr. Stan Grove remove a polypropylene mat that is used to harvest the algae grown in a photobioreactor.

AlgaeTown was conceptualized four years ago as an effort to find an easy and efficient way to produce algae, which can be harvested for use in biofuels, pharmaceuticals and even food. For years, algae has been rumored to be the fix for many of our global energy problems. The Algaetown team believes they are getting closer to making that a reality.
