About the Cover

Illustration by Hannah Gerig Meyer ’08

Trees — from biblical olive trees to campus maples — have long been symbols of rootedness and growth. Through their roots, branches and leaves, trees connect us to a sense of place, inspire healthy growth, and reveal glimpses of beauty, wisdom and the Divine.

As Goshen College launches the Connected Cause comprehensive campaign, we are expanding our commitment to serve future generations. Connected Cause is deeply rooted in our core values of Christ-centeredness, passionate learning, servant leadership, compassionate peacemaking and global citizenship. Look closely, and you’ll find these values woven among the tree’s roots!

In light of the new Connected Cause campaign, President Stoltzfus explains her decision to leave her position at Cornell University to return to Goshen College, highlighting the school’s academic excellence, Anabaptist traditions, and vitality.
