Biology Speaker Series

Each semester, the Biology Department hosts a mini-series of Science Speaker events to address a theme or support investigation of a topic from multiple perspectives. Learn more.

Biology Coffee Hour

The first and third (usually) Monday of each month from 10 to 10:50 a.m. in Science Room 106, all students majoring and/or minoring in a program in the Biological Sciences Department are encouraged to attend the Coffee Hour. This is a time for coffee/tea, announcements and dialogue in order to support you in exploring a career in biology. Coffee and cookies will be provided! Learn more.

Science Speakers Seminars

Lectures and discussions in the Science Speaker Series are free and open to the public.  While the speakers are often talking about the latest research in their fields, the goal is to make the ideas accessible to all scientifically literate people. Learn more.

Pre-Med Club

The Pre-Medical Club is open to students who are interested in any health-related field. The club has regular meetings to provide information about health-related careers, coordinates the Emergency Room Program for interested students and provides social activities for students in health-related programs. All students on the Pre-Med Club mailing list receive information on upcoming events. To have your name added to the Pre-Med Club mailing list, send your name and email address to Biology Dept. Eco-PAX Club

A Goshen College club focused on environmental stewardship and sustainability. Students take leadership in initiatives that promote ecological awareness, action, education and living, by forming connections on campus and in the larger community.

Annual Religion & Science Conference

The annual Goshen College Religion and Science Conference is designed to provide maximum interaction with a principal thinker in the dialog between religion and science. A single invited speaker presents three lectures, two of which are open to the public. Small moderated discussion sessions provide conference participants an opportunity to address topics from the lectures in conversation with the speaker. Learn more.

Science Olympiad Regional Tournament

Teams from area middle and high schools gather on the Goshen College campus each February to compete in nearly 40 events, including robotics, forensics and sounds of music, for the annual Science Olympiad Regional Tournament. Volunteers, many of which are Goshen College science students and faculty/staff, oversee and judge the events. Learn more.
