Meet Todd A. Yoder

Get to know Todd A. Yoder, hired as a major gifts officer in June 2012. Todd is a 1984 graduate of Goshen College. He and his wife Kathleen (Schertz) ’85 recently moved to Goshen from Lititz, Pa., and they have two daughters, Adrienne ’12 and Madeleine ’15, who have benefited from Goshen College educations as well.

When did you attend GC and what have you been doing since then?

I transferred to Goshen College as a sophomore and graduated in 1984. After graduating with a biology secondary education major, I taught in Elkhart and Prince Georges County, Md., before following Kathleen (’85) to Lancaster, Pa. It was at this point that I started a career in sales, management and business development. With an adventurous spirit, I held a number of different positions with two companies that took us from Lancaster to Georgia, then back again to Lititz, in Lancaster County.

How did you find your way back to Goshen?

When I heard that this position was opening up, it felt like the dream job. Although this is somewhat of a career change for me, returning to a place with a lot of familiarity makes it easier. A series of events led me here, and I’m just so excited to be a part of this vibrant, thriving and growing community. I feel like Goshen, and Goshen College, is where we belong.

Explain a bit about what you do as major gifts officer.

I will be staying in touch with GC’s closest friends and helping them realize their philanthropic goals. As people consider where to invest, I know they get the most joy from giving to what is dearest to their hearts. Education is key to transforming lives for our students and all those they’ll interact with through life. I can’t wait to start connecting with people who also love Goshen College.

Feel free to drop Todd a note or give him a call at (574) 535-7645. He’d love to hear from folks who also love GC.
